nothing

I cried out in my darkest hour,

Yet I felt nothing.

You are true, you are love, you are power;

Yet I feel nothing.

I stare at the clock

It passes

Hour by hour,

Here I am,

And I feel nothing.

My soul darkening, it’s turning sour,

And I feel nothing.

Don’t you hear my cries?

Why is my world full of lies?

I feel nothing.

Away from these topics society shies,

But I feel nothing.

Feel my tears

Oh Lord

Breathe down my neck.

Let me know that you are there.

You say that you love me,

You say that you do.

But,

I feel nothing.

This is true.

I feel nothing.

So

Let me feel you.

Draw your presence near.

Let me know that you are here.

Let me feel something.

Pain of better than numbness.

Rip me apart,

Make my heart a beating pulp.

Let me feel something.

I drown in my blood

Yet you bled for me.

Why do I feel nothing?

I can’t cut the pain out

You already have.

Let me feel something.

I love you, Lord,

And that is truer than feeling nothing.

In the midst of my nothing,

Let me feel you.

Dear Lord,

Let me feel you.
